Courses

Here are brief descriptions of some courses that I’ve taught recently. More detailed info and custom courses are available.

This course will help you choose engaging presentation topics, organize clear presentation outlines, and deliver simple, effective professional presentations in English. You will also develop the ability to evaluate the presentations of others by identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.

I learned a lot, and I feel that the knowledge I gained through this course will be very helpful for my future. TN, Japan.

I think the class discussions were really great. Thank you for evaluating my presentations every time and providing me with feedback. SM, Japan

I learned a great deal not only about the content of the presentation but also about the presenter’s attitude and delivery, and I was able to acquire various presentation techniques. ZK, China

It was a very rewarding class. At first, I was a little worried about having to speak entirely in English, but thanks to the professor’s personality, I was able to proceed without any hesitation using “Japanglish.” I was also relieved by the fact that the class was framed as a presentation skills course rather than an English language class. SY (Japan)

While some of the content could be considered basic presentation knowledge, the strong emphasis on learning through practice made it a truly valuable experience, and I could genuinely feel my own growth throughout the course. AT (Japan)

I really did not like to make a presentation when I worked at companies because I got nervous so easily. Through this course, at some point, I started to feel that I was enjoying giving a presentation in front of the audience. I’ve gained some confidence that I can do it if I try. This is the biggest discovery from this class. HK, Japan

Throughout this semester, I learned a great deal—not only about giving presentations, but more importantly about how to communicate ideas clearly and make sure the audience truly understands. This perspective has been very meaningful to me and will be helpful in my future studies. YD, China

The professor was kind. He explained things politely and in a way that was easy to understand. He always provided very detailed feedback on our assignments via email. Plus, he always teaches in a way that encourages students to think for themselves. Thanks to him, I learned a lot. IS (Japan)
